TruckingOffice and Truxello are two affordable, self-serve TMS options for trucking carriers, and both cover the basics: dispatch, invoicing, driver settlements, expenses, and IFTA. They differ in how much of the paperwork they do for you, which integrations they include, and what you pay as you grow.

Quick Overview
TruckingOffice has served owner-operators and small fleets for well over a decade. It offers two products: Basic, the original full-truckload workflow where you enter the load and trip in one step, and PRO, which adds a load planner for FTL and LTL and the TruckingOffice PRO driver app for iOS and Android. It covers dispatch, invoicing, driver settlements, expenses, maintenance reminders, IFTA and IRP records, and QuickBooks export. It also sells its own FMCSA-registered ELD, and offers PC*MILER routing and state mileage as a paid add-on.
Truxello is a newer cloud TMS for trucking carriers. TruckingOffice is the cheaper of the two on sticker price. Its flat tiers cost less than Truxello at almost every fleet size, and the gap grows past a few trucks; its longer 30-day trial is a real plus too. Truxello only comes in under PRO for a single truck (or 3–4 trucks), but it includes routing and state mileage, AI rate con entry, Truckstop search, fuel card import, and the driver app in that price, so compare the total once you add PC*MILER and the time each one saves you.

Driver Apps
Both products have a driver app. The TruckingOffice PRO app lets drivers view dispatch details, update stop statuses, upload BOL photos and fuel receipts, and review settlements; it requires a PRO subscription. Truxello Driver does the same and adds chat with dispatch, live location sharing, and settlement statements, and it’s included at no extra cost, even on a single $29/mo truck.
AI Rate Con Entry
This is the biggest workflow difference. In TruckingOffice you type each load in. In Truxello you upload the broker’s rate confirmation and AI fills in the broker, stops, dates, rate, commodity, and reference numbers for you to check and confirm. At 20 loads a week, that’s roughly an hour of typing saved.
Load Boards & ELDs
Truxello has Truckstop search built in, so you can find a load and import it without retyping. TruckingOffice doesn’t advertise a load board integration.
On ELDs the two take opposite approaches. TruckingOffice sells its own low-cost ELD, which feeds hours of service, driver locations, and state miles back into the TMS. That’s convenient if you don’t have an ELD yet. Truxello doesn’t sell hardware; it connects to the Samsara, Motive, or Geotab ELD you already run.
Who Should Choose What
TruckingOffice may be the better choice if:
- You want a 30-day trial and a long-established vendor.
- You need an ELD too and would like one vendor for both.
- You haul mostly for a few direct customers and don’t need load board search or AI data entry.
- You need IRP records alongside IFTA.
Truxello may be the better choice if:
- You book broker freight and want rate cons filled in by AI and Truckstop search built in.
- You want the driver app without paying for a higher tier.
- You already run Samsara, Motive, or Geotab.
- You use EFS, WEX, or Comdata fuel cards and want them on settlements and IFTA automatically.
